Ocellics Software Solutions is a team of experienced, qualified and committed software developers and consultants.

Each member of the team contributes to our collective knowledge based on experience, exposure and areas of interest.

Steve spent the initial 12 years of his career in the City of London working as an analyst/programmer developing valuation and control applications. During this time he was exposed to a range of technologies and development methodologies. Steve wanted to leverage the knowledge gained overseas to develop products for the South African fund management industry using an entrepreneurial model.

Since its founding in 2007, Steve has overseen Ocellics Software Solutions deliver a number of strategic financial solutions to key clients and been involved in the creation of two successful financial product companies.

Jonathan has been writing software for more than 13 years within the finance industry. Having worked as the lead software architect for RisCura, a leading investment risk consultancy, he joined Ocellics as a Director of Software development in 2013.

His key focus has been on building and architecting the Ocellics process and data platform and assembling a dynamic and skilled software development team.

In his spare time Jonathan can be found playing touch rugby or running on the mountain.

The Ocellics team has given me the opportunity to partner with like-minded individuals to build a multi-dimensional solution focused business where there are no limits placed on creativity and no compromises made on quality.

While working as a software engineer in the finance industry I kept seeing companies and related departments struggling to complete their work because data was not available on time or was erroneous. One department would have some of the data, the rest was in a legacy system or managed by another department with no easy way to access that data. Invariably a new system or ad-hoc and time-consuming process would be created to solve the immediate need, but the underlying problem would persist - I wanted to solve this. I believed that once it was solved the rest of the functionality like automation, reporting, web portals, and wide internal and external system integration would all be easier, more robust, and a lot more fun to build.
