Steve Estcourt

Steve spent the initial 12 years of his career in the City of London working as an Analyst/Programmer developing valuation and control applications. In this time he was exposed to a range of technologies and development methodologies. Steve wanted to leverage the knowledge gained overseas to develop products for the South African fund management industry using an entrepreneurial model.

Since it's founding in 2007, Steve has overseen Ocellics Software Solutions deliver a number of strategic financial solutions to key clients and been involved in the creation of two successful financial product companies.

Jonathan McKie

Director: Software Development

BCom (Hons) Information Systems (UCT)

Jonathan has been writing software for more than 12 years within the finance industry. Having worked as the lead software architect for Riscura, a leading investment risk consultancy, he joined Ocellics as a Director of Software development in 2013.

Since joining his key focus has been on building and architecting the Ocellics Financial Enterprise Development Model and assembling a dynamic and skilled software development team. He is continually chasing the vision of a dynamic and flexible framework into which solutions can be built that give fund managers complete control and access to their data.

In his spare time Jonathan can be found playing touch rugby or running on the mountain.

Clinton Patterson

Lead Software Developer

BCom Information Technology (UFS)

Clinton started his career at Riscura, a leading investment risk consultancy based in Cape Town. He has been writing financial software for 8 years and is passionate about clean and powerful software.  He loves getting his hands dirty working with data and architecture.

Clinton joined Ocellics in 2016 and has been instrumental in the delivery of multiple bespoke client solutions and is a key lead developer on the Ocellics EDM Framework.

On the weekends Clinton spends his time sampling the products of the wine farms of Stellenbosch and Paarl.

Diederick Kruisinga

Lead Software Developer

BCom (Hons) Information Systems (UCT)

Diederick has spent the last 8 years as the lead software developer at Kagiso Asset Management building data pipelines, BI dashboards and management front-ends. A master tinkerer with superior attention to detail, he is able to give solutions flare which enhance the user experience.

Since joining Ocellics, his strong front-end and architectural skills have proven a valuable asset to the Ocellics development team.

Outside of the office he is an avid league hockey player for Western Province Cricket Club, competitive sportsman and has completed 2 half-Ironman events with the big one to come.

Nishal Morar

Software Developer

MSc Computer Science (UKZN)

Nishal started his career at the Centre for AI Research at the CSIR in Pretoria focusing on ontologies in bio-diversity and taxonomy before moving to Ocellics Software Solutions in Cape Town.  He has transitioned into a more development focused role at Ocellics and has made a significant contribution to the team with his enthusiasm, willingness to learn and the ability to impart knowledge as required.

He enjoys playing tennis and spending time on the Cape Town beaches when the sun comes out.

Shelley Booth

Operations Manager

Bachelor of Social Science (UND)

Shelley started her career in London and was Head of Operations at Pioneer Alternative Investment Management before deciding to move to South Africa.  She brings a wealth of experience to Ocellics Software Solutions both at an operational level and at an advisory level when assisting with client related fund requirements and processes.
